Aww, that poor little mama has been sitting there for a long time now!
Almost a month since the first egg was laid. Incubation 35 - 42 days.
I hope we see some action around the first week of April. BW

Before noon, the lousy weather!

During the whole evening Mom has been very active regarding the nest cup. - The first chick already hatched? - don't know, but wouldn't wonder if it were so. I see even possible candidates in those pictures, I took. - that isn't also any wonder.

Three ospreys at the nest!!!... not fighting (at least during video moments), as they knew...could it be an offspring osprey??? Just a thought.

Looked there just before, both parents present, looked calm.


... and now only Mom.

In Nesting Notes : they might have hatched...

... but in your video, Pb, it's difficult to say, what's really happening there... but like to know!

I suspect its an intruder Osprey,as already stated, possibly an youngster reared at this nest in a previous year. The only other thing I could think of would be a trio, though this is unusual in Ospreys. Many years ago 2 females one male attempted to breed at the Loch Of The Lowes nest. Though if this was the case here i would have thought the third Osprey would have been seen at the nest on many more occasions
