Heligan Wild / Live webcams Page : Day and Night time viewing from one of Heligans Barns.
A pair of Barn Owls have taken up residence in our new purpose built box. We believe them to be the same pair as last year, which successfully raised three owlets.
We have recorded footage of them mating and are expecting to see the female laying eggs in the coming weeks.

When I opened the camera, both parents were presented. 
Female alone home.
Then the Male visited.

Not two but three!

They show a lot of tenderness for each other - The human eye view. http://www.heliganwild.com/webcams25/04/11 - The female Barn Owl laid her first egg this morning. She will continue to incubate the egg for about 4 weeks and in that time the male will build up a cache of food to sustain her.
27/04/11 - The second egg was laid at around 14:00.
29/04/11- The third egg was laid at around 21:15.
The average number of eggs laid by Barn Owls is 5.6, so we can expect to see more in the next few days.
